Bill Honl, who plays Detective Webber in CRIMPS, started acting at the age of seven, appearing in a number of school plays. In 1983, he graduated to regional theatre productions with a role in Moliere’s Scapino, followed by Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream – executive produced by Patricia Neal – and Noel Coward’s Blithe Spirit. In 1990, Bill was cast in You Can’t Take It With You, a production with which CRIMPS writer/director Michael Alderman was also involved, kicking off a long-standing collaboration between the two. Since then, Bill has performed in several plays directed by Alderman, including Don’t Dress For Dinner, It’s a Wonderful Life, and Talk Radio. He has also debuted new characters in three of Alderman’s original plays – Road to Nowhere, The Mystery of Marie Roget, and The Return of the Never-Before-Seen Thing From the Sea – as well as in the short film Got Candy?
