The Mystery of Marie Roget

A classic whodunit-style mystery, adapted from the Edgar Allan Poe short story, itself based upon a real 19th Century case.  The audience is invited to match wits with Poe's alter-ego, mystery writer and amateur sleuth C. August Dupin as he investigates the baffling murder of a beautiful young socialite in 1841 New York City.

Dupin must distinguish clues from red-herrings as he interviews witnesses and suspects, without benefit of modern forensic technology.  Could the crime be connected to events from Dupin's own past?

Originally produced in 2005 at the River Theater in Astoria.

3 male, 2 female actors.

Single unit set.

A Place of My Own

A comedy for anyone who's ever tried living with a roommate.

Simon has the brains, Dan has the looks, and Buzz...well, Buzz knows where the Twinkies are kept.

Despite his frustration with his living situation, college student Simon manages to tough it out.  After all, Dan and Buzz are his only real friends...until he meets Diana.

But is Diana everything she appears to be?  Perhaps more?

And why the heck does landlord Maggie carry around that frying pan?

The friendship of this trio of roomies is tested more than once in this outlandish, adult comedy.

First performed as part of the Clatsop Community College Arts On Stage 1991 season.

6 male, 5 female actors, plus assorted extras.

Single unit set.

The Return of the Never-Before-Seen Thing From the Sea

No subject is taboo in this evening of award-winning comedy sketches.  Such topics as sex, marriage, religion, drugs and death are sent up with reckless abandon.  Not appropriate for young children or the easily offended.

This production was staged in 2006 at the River Theater in Astoria.

Minimum ensemble of 9 actors required.

Settings are suggested with minimal props and costumes.

Road to Nowhere

Martin has a problem...well, several problems, really.  His car has broken down in the middle of nowhere, in the middle of the night.  He has no telephone.  And Cherise - the young woman riding with him - is beginning to wear on his nerves.

Oh, and then there's the matter of the suitcase in the car's trunk...and the raging psychopath who'll stop at nothing to get it.

Road to Nowhere is a twisting thriller...with a twisted sense of humor.

First performed as part of Clatsop Community College's Arts On Stage 1998 season.

1 female, 2 male actors.

The set is a car -- a real car -- onstage.  To see how we got it there, click here.
